We are proud to offer Manganese-Phosphate Parkerizing! Have your firearms and accessories seen extended use and exposure to the elements resulting in excessive wear on your factory finish? Look no further than our Parkerizing service. Whether you need to refinish old parts or protect something new, our Parkerizing service will provide a uniform appearance to your steel with a professional, durable and long lasting finish. Parkerizing helps to prevent corrosion and reduce wear, preserving your firearms and accessories for years to come. Trust our experienced team to give your steel the protection and rejuvenation it deserves with our Manganese-Phosphate Parkerizing service.

Manganese-Phosphate Parkerizing

Our Parkerizing service fully degreases and strips your old steel parts of any oils and contaminants before being media blasted to a raw finish. The parts are then immediately transferred in to our Manganese Phosphate baths where the chemical reaction to the bare metal completes the parkerizing process. The items are washed and repackaged before being shipped back to you. Rates vary from piece to piece so please contact us directly for a price quote, available at the bottom of the page.

Improved Coefficient of Friction

The following graph shows a comparison of untreated steel to Manganese-Phosphate Parkerized steel during a "ball-disk” point contact method of testing. After 35 min, the CoF curve gradually flattens. The average sliding COF of the uncoated sample is between 0.131 and 0.142. In the steady stage, the COF of the Parkerized part is 0.096. The Parkerizing coating offers a roughly 19% decreased coefficient of friction. Manganese-Phosphate Parkerizing helps to greatly reduce the coefficient of friction for treated parts both before use as well as after run in.

Improved Surface Roughness Values

This graph shows Ra (Roughness Average) and Rq (Root Mean Square Roughness) values for bare steel versus parkerized steel both before and after wear testing. This shows that while the parkerized part begins with roughly 26.5% increased roughness average compared to bare steel before testing begins, once initial roughness is removed through running in, a 77.6% reduction in Ra is observed while a 73% reduction is observed for Rq. Compared to the untreated bare steel, only 19.5% and 37.4% reductions are observed for Ra and Rq values respectively. Manganese-Phosphate Parkerizing offers great benefits in overall surface roughness, in turn reducing wear and decreasing friction on your parts.
